Ana Kristina Gasteyer was born in America. She is an actor, comedian and vocalist. Her fame was forged by her role as a guest on the NBC comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live in 1996-2002. Since then, she's appeared in sitcoms such as ABC's Suburgatory TBS People of Earth NBC American Auto as well as on the television show Mean Girls. Gasteyer was studying at Northwestern University when she began her career as an actor. Her first course was an audio-major and then switched to theater following her participation in the college's improv team. The same energy was carried to her roles in supporting roles such in the roles of Sheila Shay, the overly-controlling character in Suburgatory, or Karen Grisham the eccentric agent in Lady Dynamite.
